Cyrus Chestnut Trio

Twin bill with Kandace Springs Trio

The best jazz pianist of his generation.” – Time Magazine

Fans of straight-ahead, blues, and gospel-tinged jazz will want to check out Cyrus Chestnut, a standout pianist who has performed alongside such legends as Terence Blanchard, Wynton Marsalis, and Betty Carter. Although predominantly a post-bop player, Chestnut is not a purist and happily draws elements of Latin, samba, and gospel into his masterly keyboard performances. Subtle and swinging, this easy-going virtuoso has been playing literally around the world for 20 years. His leadership and prowess as a soloist has also led him to be a first call for the piano chair in many big bands, such as the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and the Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Big Band.  Having recorded over 20 albums under his own name, this guy is the real deal. Eric Wheeler bass and Chris Beck drums
