“Known for their charismatic stage presence and subtle chemistry as they energetically delve into groove based improvisations.” – The Trane Studio
The latest post-jazz sensation from Montreal stems from that city’s most multicultural enclave, Parc-Extension. The instrumental trio known as Parc X features Gabriel Vinuela-Pelletier keyboards, Alex Lefaivre bass, and Noam Guerrier-Freud drums. Their original compositions are a mix of pop, classical, jazz, and world music, while the band itself is well known for its high-energy shows. They have become regulars at the Montreal Jazz Festival and, in 2010 won that festival’s “TD Jazz Grand Prix Award.” The band’s latest album, Dream, has been critically acclaimed for its melodicism and instrumental virtuosity.
