Alex Pangman

“She roars through a repertoire of vintage swing and blues, possessed by the coltish spirit of a young Mildred Bailey.” – Montreal Gazette

Dubbed “Canada’s sweetheart of swing,” Justin Time recording artist Alex Pangman channels everyone from Kay Starr to the young Ella Fitzgerald. Pangman, a musical time machine who presents classics from the Great American Songbook with all the vivacity you could ever want, has collaborated with Bucky Pizzarelli, Denzal Sinclaire and Ron Sexsmith. This charismatic, multiple JUNO Award nominee continues to sing despite having endured two double lung transplants. She played TD JazzFest 2015, and returns to Victoria in a live performance that is perfect for swing dancers. John Macleod cornet, Peter Hill piano, Glenn Anderson drums, Chris Banks bass
