Paris-born Justin Time Recording Artist and pianist Jean-Michel Pilc is internationally revered for his fearless improvisational language and philosophical approach to music-making. Over a career spanning more than 30 years, Pilc has released over a dozen albums as a leader and has performed with numerous jazz giants such as Roy Haynes, Michael Brecker, Marcus Miller, Kenny Garrett, Chris Potter, Richard Bona, and many more. He previously held a faculty position at Berklee College of Music. Though Pilc has toured Canada before, this marks his return to Victoria after playing with guitarist Stephane Wrembel’s Quartet in January 2025, and his first TD JazzFest appearance in trio format.
