A small but mighty community showed up to keep the music playing and keep live jazz alive in Victoria.

The Victoria Jazz Society is thrilled to announce that its fundraising campaign to raise $250,000 by October 30 is a resounding success. During October, a total of $271,758 was pledged from 620+ people, businesses, or organizations in support of the Victoria Jazz Society’s fundraiser to save JazzFest International Victoria and future VJS presentations in Greater Victoria.

Thanks to you – your generous pledges, donations, and spreading the word – live jazz in Greater Victoria will remain strong. You reaffirmed our belief that the community’s passion for live music is a strong force, and can withstand anything. You are a champion of the arts. Thank you.

Passion for the arts goes a long way. With the pledges the Victoria Jazz Society received, JazzFest International Victoria will continue. Year-round VJS presentations will continue. Free performances will continue. Workshop/clinics and educational outreach initiatives will continue. And more!

Now, the next steps will be taken: the Victoria Jazz Society will contact pledge-makers to finalize the payment of their pledge amounts. Once the funds are all collected, the Victoria Jazz Society will begin preparations for next year’s JazzFest International Victoria (last week of June 2027) as well as live performances throughout the year.

The Victoria Jazz Society, established in 1981, is a nonprofit organization and “federally registered charity”, and every donation above $10 will receive a tax receipt.

Donations are accepted at any point throughout the year at: jazzvictoria.ca/donate

Thank you for supporting the Victoria Jazz Society. We are so incredibly grateful that you love live music as much as we do, and chose to rally behind our cause.

For the love of live music,

The Victoria Jazz Society
