Louis Rudner's Fusion Throwdown

Saturday, June 21 | Cameron Bandshell, Beacon Hill Park | 3:35pm

Jazz bassist and composer Louis Rudner performing live in June at TD Victoria JazzFest 2025 in Victoria, BC — blending groove-driven jazz with global influences.

Louis Rudner has been laying diverse musical foundations for over a decade. A native of southeast Michigan, he took up the violin at the age of eight and began studying classical music as well as American traditional music.  Inspired by the energy of the music from the 1960’s beginning with Cream, Jimi Hendrix, and Santana, Rudner took up the electric bass to experiment with and explore a different sound palette. After several years playing music around the world and at sea, Rudner moved to Victoria. These days he is performing, teaching, and developing several creative projects, including his Fusion Throwdown with Barrie Sorensen saxophone, Attila Fias keyboards, Sean Duhaime guitar, and Alex Campbell drums.
