Victoria-based singer/guitarist Paul Black has dedicated his existence to blues-rock – he picked up his first guitar at 18 years old and hasn’t put it down since. Raised on gospel and country, he turned to blues and continued refining his sound by listening to Albert King, Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, Gary Moore and T-Bone Walker. A compilation of compelling arrangements paired with bold guitar and vocals led to his latest album, Beautiful Sin (2024), which earned him a nomination for “Blues Artist of the Year” at the Western Canadian Music Awards.
