“They are making some of the most gritty, raw, and muddy music north of Mississippi.” – CBC
One of Canada’s most incendiary live propositions, The Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer are relentless touring artists known for their high-energy performances. Shawn “Harpoonist” Hall vocals/harmonica and Matthew “Axe Murderer” Rogers guitar/bass/foot percussion released Apocalipstick in 2017, the follow up to 2014’s widely acclaimed A Real Fine Mess, which was nominated for “Blues Album of the Year” at the 2015 Juno Awards and earned the band the win for “Blues Album of the Year” and “Alternative Album of the Year” at the 2015 WCMA’s. Famous for gritty, blues-rock grooves framed by psychedelic landscapes and world-ending jam-outs, this top Canadian blues band has shared the stage with Mother Mother, Taj Mahal, Booker T Jones, and Serena Ryder. In 2021, they released Live at the King Eddy, delivering good vibes, rock, groove, and soul in abundance. With their last play at Vancouver Island Blues Bash in 2017, catch their return at this year’s Harbour Blues ‘n Roots Festival!
Opening for this evening will be Victoria’s high-octane alt-blues/rock group Wet Future.
