Jazz drummer and Juilliard School Small Ensemble Director Ulysses Owens Jr. advises on the fundamentals of swing rhythm, jazz improvisation, and playing together as a rhythm section, in addition to The History of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, and the Generation Y musicians.  The workshop will also feature an intimate performance, including songs from his latest 2024 album, A New Beat.
