Laura Anglade Quartet

Monday, June 24 | Hermann's Jazz Club | 7pm

“Laura has studied all the great vocal stylists of the last century. And yet she imitates no one. Her pure tone, sparing use of vibrato, and total lack of affectation are almost startling when you first hear her, because you feel convinced that no singer has ever been so absolutely honest with you.” – The Berkshire Edge

French-American singer-songwriter Laura Anglade is a promising storyteller with a lot to say, and sings in both French and English. She draws inspiration from Carmen McRae, Blossom Dearie, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Shirley Horn, Nancy Wilson, and Anita O’Day. Anglade has made a mark in the vibrant music scenes of New York, Paris, Toronto and Montreal, collaborating with some of the world’s finest musicians, including Peter Bernstein, Jonathan Kreisberg, Ben Paterson, Ira Coleman, Reg Schwager, and Neil Swainson.

She leads an active international touring schedule and has performed at renowned venues like Olympia (Paris), the Royal Festival Hall (London), Town Hall (New York City), the Ace Theatre Hotel (Los Angeles), and the main stage at the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal. She opened for Gregory Porter at TD Victoria International JazzFest (2022), and had the honour of opening for Melody Gardot (2022), joining her for multiple dates across the east and west coasts of the United States and in Europe. Catch her jubilant return to TD JazzFest with her quartet! Valerie Lacombe drums, John Champman bass, Sam Kirmayer guitar
