Matteo Mancuso

Wednesday, June 25 | Wicket Hall, Strathcona Hotel | 8:30pm

“Matteo is the evolution of fusion guitar, his breathtaking technique is a marvel to behold. He’s the evidence that the evolving spirit of guitars players is firmly intact.” – Steve Vai

Italian prodigy and jazz-rock guitarist Matteo Mancuso made waves early in Sicily’s jazz scene, participating in local festivals at 11 years old. Having explored a diverse repertoire, from Django Reinhardt to contemporary jazz, he soon gained widespread acclaim for fusion takes on classic standards. In 2017, Mancuso’s talent was recognized at the Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia, where he secured a scholarship to the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston. Through studio work, international touring, and composition, Mancuso solidified his position as a rising star in the global music scene. He has collaborated with artists such as Al Di Meola, the legendary Premiata Forneria Marconi, and Tommy Emmanuel. In 2023, his debut solo album The Journey was released, capturing the essence of his diverse musical influences. Renowned musicians, including Dweezil Zappa, Joe Bonamassa, Eric Johnson, and Steve Vai, have praised Mancuso’s talents. He makes his Victoria debut live at Wicket Hall this June! Matteo Mancuso will host a free-to-attend workshop/clinic at The Lounge at Archie Browning Sports Centre, 3pm on Wednesday, June 25.
